Best way to pair headphone + subwoofer ?

Hello.

Does anyone already use a headphone + subwoofer combination? Does it really work as well as it sounds?
Since we are going to stick for headphones for CV1 and we still want the IMAX bass quality it could be the closet solution.

I tried all headphone and nothing got as close as a home cinema for bass.
Except a giant one, two huge square around 30cm^2 each that i tried in Hong Kong. Forget the name and brand but it was not for public consumer and costed around 2000 USD....

Anyway, if you got a best practice/feedback for headphone + subwoofer pairing, please share it here, i'm sure a lot of people are interested.

    Use a device to copy the sound signal then send it to a LPF and to the sub? Or do you want a different sub signal?

    Set up your system to output to a sub, then hack a speaker cable to a female headphone jack for the front speakers. Maybe put an audio pot in the circuit so you can balance it sub to front.

    Or just plug your phones into the rear panel jack for front speakers.

    If you just want force feedback for a single user, check out the Kor-Fx vest or the ButtKicker.

    thanks guys! very interesting. did you guys already tried it? any feedback how better the experience is by doing that?

    if we use kor fx vest i wonder if we still need the subwoofer or if it become irrelevant ?

    I've tried the Kor-Fx vest and the Buttkicker, both were pretty cool. You don't need any additional subwoofer if you use either of those products. Personally I would prefer the vibrating vest over a shaking seat, but it could depend on the game. For example, if you are playing racing/flight sims then the ButtKicker may be more realistic. While first-person shooters would benefit more from a vest.

    thanks. it does tie up with what the audio store told me. they believe if we listen anything on the headset we would unlikely hear the paired subwoofer. Thus the subwoofer would only be felt as vibration, not sounds. ( would be nice if anyone who have such setup comment on it )

    If that is true, then using something like kor fx vibrating vest could not only in theory achieve as well as a subwoofer, but it can even do it silently and with 3D perception as a bonus.
