What's most disturbing to me is that there is still no official release date. Not even a Qx estimation... all we got for now is a fuzzy "2014". I'm in the process of creating a product I want to launch Q2 next year. Part of the selling strategy will be the usage of the Rift.
The fact that they're talking about "the final version will have this and that feature" without a) a roadmap, b) a release date and c) a concertation with the users/developers (well... they have their core developers they talk with; but then) makes me nervous. Currently it sounds like feature creep to me...
