Competitive Games Thread

Hey everyone! I'm one of the new Moderators, and I wanted to say hello. I also want to ask you guys what you're playing as far as competitive multiplayer games. 

 

I used to be more of a fan of single player and cooperative gaming experiences, but when I was in high school I started playing Rocket League when it released. This game got me absolutely hooked and it is a game I still play to this day. I think the most rewarding part about these games is seeing the tangible progress you're making compared to other players. I feel like competitive games get a bad wrap because they tend to have more toxic communities than other genres, but for me nothing matches being able to easily measure my progress and compare it to other people. In addition to Rocket League I play a little bit of CS:GO but am not as competitive, and mostly just play with friends.

 

 

What kind of competitive games are you guys playing? Are there any you would recommend that maybe a lot of people don't play, or are underrated?

    I was BIG into Team Fortress 2 in high school. Fell off when the game fell off and haven't found a replacement since. Tried Fall Guys, Fortnite. I suppose one I'm getting into now thanks to a friend is Tetr.io.

    I was really hooked on Overwatch and Apex for a bit, but started to lose interest as the competitiveness of them kinda drains the fun for me. Also, I loved playing Hearthstone for a while but stopped playing once I realized unless you're playing 24/7 then it falls into a pay-to-win game, so I gave up on that lol.

    here are a few popular competitive games:

    1. League of Legends - a popular MOBA game where players compete against each other in teams to destroy the enemy base.

    2. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive - a first-person shooter game where players compete in teams to complete objectives or eliminate the opposing team.

    3. Overwatch - a team-based first-person shooter game where players select heroes with unique abilities and compete against each other in various game modes.

    4. Fortnite - a popular battle royale game where players compete against each other in a shrinking arena until only one player or team remains.

    5. Valorant - a team-based first-person shooter game where players use tactical abilities and weapons to complete objectives or eliminate the opposing team.

    6. Rainbow Six Siege - a tactical first-person shooter game where players compete in teams to complete objectives or eliminate the opposing team.

    7. Dota 2 - another popular MOBA game where players compete against each other in teams to destroy the enemy base.

    8. Rocket League - a unique sports game where players control cars to play soccer in a virtual arena.

    These are just a few examples of popular competitive games. There are many other games in different genres that have a competitive scene, such as fighting games, racing games, and strategy games.
