  • While piracy discussion is allowed, be careful about promoting or linking to any particular sites.

To answer your question, though, the physical copy will usually be better quality as it's not compressed a second time.

ok thanks but does that mean that physical copies are much bigger in size.
  • Cyber, I always liked having physical boxes of all my games. I decorate my mansion and yacht with them. Still have the maps from the Ultima games up. Have even made a poster of your avatar that I have put up on my fridge so I can toast you everytime I get a cold beer. So in that spirit, will I be able to buy any physical boxes or items from your company? Like if I buy proton pulse, I want a box that I can put on my shelf. Maybe even a small 3d figure inside of a ship from anshar wars. A t shirt of your avatar that says cybereality: to cyberspace and beyond... yet you guys don't seem to be selling these things I would buy from you. Y not? It would be a way to leverage your existing ip into more sales and get your and your developers more money. Remember the George Lucas lesson, merchandising.
  • A bluray disc typically has a capacity of 50GB for a feature length movie (dual layer, 25GB per layer). If the digital copy of a movie is less than 50GB, then it's going to be worse quality.
Even if the compression format is superior to bluray video, it would still be a recompress from bluray quality, and video compression is typically lossy.

(Of course probably not exactly 50GB if the movie is short and there's no extra features. But you get the idea)
