- cyberealityGrand ChampionThey're good quality, but I like the feel of the standard headphones better.
- Log_a_FrogHeroic ExplorerYeh they are good
Do you have bigscreen Cyber? It is soooooo goood - kevink808SuperstarThe reviews I read online generally say they are more immersive and better sound quality than the headphones, partly because they block out external noise and partly because they give better directional sound. So I ordered them as the reviews also said they are a good deal at $49.99 and on par to high-end buds. The main con I see is that if you want to let someone else use the rift, it can get a bit icky.
- falken76Expert ConsultantToo much money for ear buds. But to be fair to Oculus, they're remaining competitive to Bose and Beats by Dre. This same style by one of them would easily set you back $100. Now if your original headphones that came with the rift broke..... Still expensive, but doable.
Then you run into the problem Kevink808 mentions.... Sharing the rift with your friends and everyone has to use those nasty dirty ear buds that go inside your ear. Gross. - Personally, I like the over-ear headphones, and I feel that they would be easier to put on and off than in-ear buds. I also don't really want to block out external noise any more than the current headphones do--my wife already has an easy enough time sneaking up on my when I'm Rifting.
(Just wait until I get Touch--she might think twice about surprising me when I'm swing my arms around blindly!) - cyberealityGrand ChampionThe in-ear phones do have better sound quality it seems, better isolation, etc. However, the over-ear are just more comfortable and easier/quicker to put on and take off. But I'm sure there are people that will like one over the other based on their personal preference.
- Log_a_FrogHeroic ExplorerWhen the temperature is hot outside I found that the over the ear headphone become a bit sweaty on your ear
- kevink808SuperstarToo bad we can't hotswap between the two like an Apple Watch strap. Maybe CV2!
- flexy123SuperstarThe over-ear ones are ASTONISHINGLY good. The only disadvantage maybe that they "let sound out". $50 for ear plugs is ridiculous. For music and normal gaming etc. I am normally using old SONYs (which are not made anymore, unfortunately), the new, recent SONY plugs are horrible.
- kevink808SuperstarYou all spent $3k on your setup already. What's another $50? Do Mark Z a solid.
