It is 100% not recognized by any computer, it's totally failed at this point. Recuva is awesome freeware though, I used it a couple months ago.

great to hear, any success is better than no success. I'm going to wait until the sun goes down tonight and give it a shot with the drive between my bedroom window and the screen.
