Food memory

Hey hey! Just making this thread for food you love or favorite plates!

My favorite is Calabacitas this is squash with chopped tomato πŸ…, onion , cilantro, corn 🌽and lastly queso fresco (fresh cheese). My family is from Veracruz, Mexico and this is a typical plate we make as a family. I love love love love this!

This is a meal I would eat with my mom and sister growing up on cold days! While watching La rosa de Guadalupe as this is a common novela that comes out in the TV. We never missed eating this with a cup of agua fresca de Jamaica.  Don't we all miss those times where it was easier β€οΈ But it is part of growing up.

I love to hear everyone else's favorite food and what it reminds you off!

  • Aww this is such a sweet thread. Food is one of my favorite things in the world so I'd love to contribute!

My grandma is from Korea and would always make a huuuuuuge spread of food when we would come over. My favorite has always been jjinppang, which is like a steamed bun filled with red bean. Bibimbap is also very nostalgic for me!! Now every time I get Korean food from a restaurant I feel like it's missing that special something. Nothing compares to grandmas home cooking ❀️
