- cyberealityGrand ChampionI've been using Udemy for a while. It's a great resource. I think I bought that same Unity course, but I haven't watched it yet. They have a ton of topics and different courses, and the prices are affordable (if you buy during the sales). I kind of binged and got like 50 courses or something and now I just need to find time to watch them.
- KevinakiHeroic Explorer@CrashFu I've had that course for a while and just started going through it the other day. So far so good so I recommend it especially if you can get it when it's discounted.
- KevinakiHeroic Explorer@cybereality seems like I did the same thing. Every time there's a sale I have the urge to buy more but remind myself that I must finish the many courses I already have.
- CrashFuConsultantReally frustrating, I still can't actually purchase the course. I've done everything suggested in their support pages with no luck, so now I guess I just have to wait for Udemy support to email me back.
Considering I'm unlikely to get a reply tonight, I wonder if they'll still honor the $12 price, or if I'll have to settle for whatever price it's at by the time this gets sorted out? - cyberealityGrand ChampionHey, I just gifted you the course. Let me know if you get the email.

Woah, dude, you didn't have to do that (but I really appreciate it!)
I'll have to remember to return that gesture once Oculus Home supports gifting games. :+1: (Which I'm sure will be sometime after, and tied into, the Avatars/Rooms features. Imagine getting to "physically" hand people presents to unwrap? That'd be so much more fun than a simple notification.) - zbosonSuperstarI have been using Unity on and off for about a year now. I never used a game engine before. I am very comfortable with C and C++ programming though. I did not pay for any classes. I mostly went through tutorials at

did some google searches and watched youtube tutorials. I actually started with Unreal but it did not import complex CAD models easily. Unity is ridiculously easy to learn. I mean the learning curve is not steep at all. On the other hand it has an enormous number of features so you're not going to learn how to take advantage of most of its features overnight.
My suggestions to learn Unity is to pick a project you want to do and jump in. Implement what you can, then read up, implement some more and repeat.
The courses you mention look interesting though. If I have time (doubtful) I will go through them. Maybe I will pick and choose. Another game making resource I like which is a bit more low level is this

Thanks! I would like to switch to the Unreal engine for meany reasons one of which is that I strongly prefer C++ (or rather C) than C#. I think I will start with the udemy unreal course. - w1dg3tExpert Protege
