Game of Thrones, S7: "Does Dragonstone sell Dragon glass?"
Any GoT fans out there? I love the series and have read all the books (currently wrapping up the last one).
As most fans know, this season on the show we have officially surpassed the written books. And while I'm a huge fan, I can't help but note some of the obvious differences in the writing style. Without the books as a guide... things feel a bit more Disney.
This thread is pure Spoilers btw
The first episode of Season 7 attempts to address the 6-year long buildup of fighting the Undead. We've waited 6 years since the shows release for the humans in the show to accept the fact that an army of dead is coming. Now, on the 7th season that "acceptance" has finally happened.
... and suddenly super critical puzzle pieces fall together in a single episode in a way that is so damn obvious it makes you wonder why the citizens in GoT ever questioned the existence of dragons and the undead in the first place:
Scene 1)
"Zombie army incoming. They have +100 resistance to Crush, Slash, and Pierce; Cold Immunity; -50 vulnerability to Fire; we haven't invented Electricity yet; -100 vulnerability to Dragon Glass. Plus, Dragon Glass weapons have 'Chance to insta-kill Zombie' modifier x60. Anyone know where to find any?"
- Jon Snow, aka son of a Dragonborn
Scene 2)
"omg, I got a rare lewt drop in the Library. Just found the exact location of mass Dragon Glass. The pharm spot is, Dragonstone. How lucky is that?"
- Dragonborn Jon's best friend, Sam
Scene 3)
"Epic raid session is over. Let's divide up Epic Lewt, equip new gear, and take my 3 Dragons who have the 'Firebreathing +100' Trait to a new camp spot called, Dragonstone. Wonder if there's anything worth pharming there..."
- Dragon Queen, aka Dragonborn Jon's aunt
It typically takes years for major milestones to fall into place in the GoT universe. Yet in a single episode (without the books as a guide), the cosmos aligned in a way that violates the GoT laws of physics. But that's cool... if this has been written in the books first we'd probably have to wait 5 more years to see these milestones play out so perfectly.
