Graphic card for DK2

I just got an opportunity to buy a used gtx 770 2GB and I was wondering if it's worth getting it. Right now I'm using GTX 650 Ti with 2GB and while lots of demos work fine, I'm getting low frame rate on more advanced ones (like Technolust, Sightline, etc.). I was wondering if a jump from my card to gtx 770 is worth its price (I'll basically have to give only 160 eur). I know I'll probably have to switch again for CV1, but for DK2 it should probably be ok?

I am developing with UE4 for the DK2, my rig is far lower than all of yours and I can run things perfectly at all the highest settings. (lower Anti alaysing)

    i5 3470
    8GB RAM
    GTX 660 OC 2GB

One thing I would like to point out is that Oculus aren't going to release a piece of technology which will require everyone to go out and buy a new GPU or system.

eg: The latest driver update along with a new GPU driver update has really boosted my performance. :geek:

Once they optimize their code and work through all of their bugs I have no doubt this rig of mine can play everything I like.
  • The problems is the way (and the technologies involved) Nvidia, and ATI handle video.. the designs are different, propitiatory, and "do not" mesh well (in many cases not at all) between the two rivals..

IMHO, VR needs a completely "from the ground up", open sourced (API's) video engine...

This should be a true .org project that is designed to have only one goal.. To provide a well known and accepted video driving operating system... IN fact a true video operating system would be preferable then having to attach to already existing OS's which would simplify the issues with coding..

The video screen (being truly digital now) does not need to use vector graphic models to produce images.. this should be a priority, but for some reason is left in the dustbin... :geek:
