GTX 970 temp question

Hey All
I haven't messed with upgrading PC's in awhile. But I upgraded to the GTX 970, almost got the 980 i think is the next one up but couldn't justify spending that money. But had to get a new power supply as well. Got that all in the other night, was running just Firefox and at times the 3 programs that came with the card to watch the temp, and gpu/memory usage meters , benchmark stuff. I would have the monitor window open to watch the temp, and maybe firefox, and it was running around 40-65 Celsius depending on what I was doing. Mainly after I benchmark it and the fan's where still going did it cool down to 40. I read somewhere that it should be around 30 degrees Celsius. Then when I would benchmark it it would get up to 70 maybe 75 Celsius. The thing that worries me is that I haven't really played anything that would run it real hard, and these temps seem kinda high. Its a stock hp case, so its kinda compact in there. I was thinking if its just not getting enough airflow I'll open the case and run it with out the side off or modify the side panel by drilling some holes or something cause I got kids and cats, and don't want any of them getting in there. Thanks for your help

70 is fine. If your GPU runs at say 90 for extended periods of time than i would worry
