How many tabs do you have open in your browser?

I have 173. I'm trying to stay under 200 from now on. But earlier this year I had 1000+. I was using "the great suspender" plugin in chrome, and that allowed me to have all those tabs open without totally freezing my computer. But... having 1000 tabs open has a weird effect on my brain, and I don't ever want to have that many open any more.

How many tabs do you have open in your browser?

Whoa. That seems so alien to me.

You are a focused man, cyber.

    That's mighty impressive Jose.

Right now I'm at 12, which is common while I'm at work. At home I can easily get into the 30 range (and if I'm looking up images on tumblr I'm sure I can get into 50+ territory).

    But I don't think I ever broke 100.

Wat? No way. I refuse to believe that my tab numbers are uncommon. :o

I've been doing good lately. I'm at 108 right now, and I haven't gone past 200 in a while.

On mobile Chrome, I don't know how many tabs I had open, because when you get past 99, the tab counter shows ":D". But I closed a lot of tabs and now my phone is stable now. No more random freezing when scrolling and everything in general is more responsive.
  • I currently have 16 up and try to limit it to around 10 now. I used to have 70-100 in the past lol.
  • Depends on my situation.

Right now I do casual browsing at the beginning of the day, so (excluding two always-pinned tabs) 10 is the number.

However, when for example I work on something and have to traverse loads of Wiki pages and documentation, the number can easily bump to 40-50. And it is just the effect of "I'm gonna leave these tabs, I got what I wanted however who knows, maybe they'll get useful again".
  • Never more than a single row of legible tab labels, maybe ~10.

But I do strive to clean up too much (not my house) and sometimes have to dip into browser history.

@Jose, As I suspected after your top post; you are an outlier sample with regard to browser tab useage.

...earlier this year I had 1000+...
more than 1kTabs, thats... tabtastic!

I can't understand the need for so many tabs. I guess there is some emerging culture of "deep web surfing" that tries to emulate sci-fi or something like that.
