I have a Meta Quest 3 that seems to have a provisioning/pairing issue after a failed system update.

Here is what happened:

  1. The headset originally got stuck during an update and became unusable.
  2. I entered recovery mode and manually sideloaded an official OTA update using ADB.
  3. The update installed successfully and now the headset boots normally again.
  4. I can reach the initial setup screen (language, Wi-Fi, pairing code, etc.).
  5. However, I cannot complete the pairing process in the Meta Horizon app.

Current symptoms:

  1. The Meta Horizon app always fails to pair with the headset.
  2. Bluetooth permissions and nearby device permissions are enabled.
  3. I already tried factory reset multiple times.
  4. I also tried reinstalling the Meta Horizon app.
  5. The headset connects to Wi-Fi correctly.
  6. ADB recovery/sideload works normally.
  7. When I check the serial number on Meta support pages, it says the device has “no support available”.
  8. The serial number is detected correctly in recovery/ADB.

Recovery device info:

  1. Secure Boot: yes
  2. Lock state: locked
  3. Build variant: user
  4. Model revision: eureka

Thx! :)
