I'd like to applaud you....

Seriously, I don't know how you guys manage it, but literately EVERY TIME I put on my Quest 3, try to link to Steam and want to play a bit it takes more then half an hour to get it working, I get updates, on the controllers, on the headset, oh wait also on the Meta Link Quest on PC app and when in finally is done, the audio from Steam doesn't work, or the headset can't find the computer or the link won't work or, or, or......

Now I'm not a hardcore gamer, I do it to relax sometimes, but I won't relax, I can't game for half an hour, I'm wrestling myself through a gazzlion unwanted options, main focus my Avatar, because it seems that my Avatar is THE MOST IMPORTANT thing in the Metaverse, new looks, new clothes, new something that seems to be really important, but you know what, I really don't care a single bit about that whole avatar/connect with friends/here's a mirror to see yourself stuff...

Because I like to game for like half an hour before bedtime, but now I'm done with it, this is for real the fourth time this week that I have put it back in the drawer considering to de-install everything Meta related and sell my Quest 3, because I understand updates are needed, but freaking every time I want to game a little is way way waaaay too much, and except for the improvements in speed and stability, all new functions can go directly down the drain.

So again, I applaud you dear Devs and other Meta-Occulus workers, you have one deeply disappointed user less to worry about, but what would you care, you have enough players left to annoy with great quality of life improvements like new Avatars, annoying popups that won't go away, daily updates that ruin your setup and God knows what. But I'm done. Goodbye.

If they kept the headset charged and in standby with automatic updates on, they wouldn't be greeted by a backlog every time they turn it on. Devices don't update themselves while powered off. There's no mystery there.

As for the alternative - if Meta stopped pushing updates entirely - people would be complaining about security holes, broken apps, tracking issues, compatibility failures, and developers abandoning the platform. So the same people upset about updates would be upset about the lack of updates instead. Different week, same posts.

The only thing I've to wait for sometimes is the controllers updating.... which takes only afew seconds.
