If Meta really wants to improve its platforms, it needs to start listening to its users.
We’ve seen progress, like the ability to create custom AI-generated backgrounds in apps like Horizon — but basic features like customising clothing are still locked behind region restrictions. Users in the UK are forced to use VPNs or change their phone settings just to access the same features others already have.
More importantly, essential accessibility tools like voice dictation and better speech-to-text integration are still lacking in the UK. These aren’t just “nice-to-haves” — they’re necessities for many users with accessibility needs.
If Meta can roll out creative tools powered by AI, there’s no excuse for leaving out accessibility features or restricting core customisation options by region.
Start listening. Improve access. Make your platforms work for everyone.
