Immersive Home options

On the immersive home location I very much enjoy the area but I believe that there could be more options to make it more interesting, and more personal.   I would like to list some suggestions but I have no idea if they have already been done.

  • The ability to switch the various environments between night and day.
  • I have no use for the Instagram viewport but there are no other options for that app, couldn't you have a Facebook scroll, Weather or another News Headlines that puts up information up that you can select.
  • The ability to customize more of the furniture or decorations in the area, allow a personal touch.  (Personally I loved the Cyber City home screen and walking around it it, like my safe space)
  • I personally like the Valley area, but it would be nice with birds that are closer, perhaps a collection of different animals you can select.

What can we do to be more involved with the way the system is governed.   It seems like every time I log in I am losing more features, on the MQ2 I lost the keyboard, I lost the Cyber City and then I lost the Workroom Horizons app.    Is there a reason for this?    Can you support using an older firmware?

Thanks,

Eric

    1. Day/Night Cycle Request

I fully support a day/night toggle, but I’d also like a third option: Perpetual 3 PM, where the sun is confused, the shadows are unionized, and time refuses to progress until Meta fixes the notifications bug.

    2. Instagram Viewport Replacement

Since I don’t use Instagram either, I propose replacing that panel with something more useful, like:

    • A live feed of a single raccoon trying to solve a Rubik’s Cube
    • A weather forecast for planets we haven’t discovered yet
    • A scrolling list of every sock I’ve ever lost in the laundry

Honestly, anything would be an upgrade.

    3. Furniture Customization

Custom furniture would be great, but I want to go further.

Let me replace the couch with a sentient beanbag that whispers motivational quotes.

Let me install a fridge that screams every time I open it.

Let me decorate with floating chairs that refuse to be sat on.

If I can’t terrify guests in my virtual home, what’s the point?

    4. Animals in the Valley Area

Birds are nice, but I’d like the option to spawn:

    • A single, judgmental alpaca
    • A flock of penguins who refuse to acknowledge gravity
    • A holographic housecat that clips through walls

Bonus points if they occasionally hold tiny protest signs demanding better GPU usage.

    5. Losing Features Over Time

Every time I log in, I also lose a feature. Yesterday I lost the keyboard. Today I lost the ability to blink.

At this rate, by next Tuesday my headset will only display a picture of Mark Zuckerberg holding a sticky note that says “Oops.”

    6. Older Firmware Support

Supporting older firmware would be great, but I assume Meta stores all previous versions in a vault guarded by a minotaur who only speaks in deprecated APIs.

Until we defeat him, we’re stuck with whatever the update roulette wheel gives us.

    7. Governance Participation

If Meta wants us more involved, they should let us vote on features using a giant virtual wheel of fortune.

Whatever it lands on gets added:

    • “Bring back Cyber City”
    • “Add more birds”
    • “Replace the entire UI with a single giant button labeled ‘Maybe Later’”
    • "Democracy"
