I was sitting outside south hall at gdc around 8pm and a phugging pigeon flew past me into the exhibitors hall and I was thinking what a Lloyd and harry clusterphuck that could be. All those well laid plans and devices ruined by a birdbrained pigeon looking to peck on some electronics or take a dump. Lol. I have pictures I took of the pigeon as proof! Lol!

The fact that current society is unsustainable is pretty well understood, but unfortunately not well known. Anybody that can comprehend the basics of an exponential function can tell you that.

The scariest part is that knowing exactly when we're doomed is so inexact, and it might be upon us before we are able to do anything. I found a very enlightening video on the subject

Anyway, I'm happy that technologies like VR are being developed, so people can have more recreational time that doesn't use up so much fuel, raw materials, and generally larger amounts of un-renewable resources. Making millions of re-useable VR headsets has to be less of an impact on the environment than some other activities. (specifically tourism)

It has been nice to see people taking more of an interest in environmental impact, more notably the big name corporations out there, I just wish most would take more than an 'interest' and put their money on the line for taking larger strides in bettering our future.

These people are idiots. They are right, but not for the reasons they say.

Civilization falls when the people who created the civilization are displaced and replaced by third-worlders. Which is currently happening in almost every white country at an alarming rate. After the next few decades, the United States will no longer exist, followed soon after by several European countries. Fortunately, that apocalypse is quite easy to avoid if we decide to do so.

The other apocalypses requiring urgent action are global warming/fossil-fuel depletion (much harder), third-world overpopulation, Islamization, and the rising costs of health-care and "entitlements". We also need to stop the third world biting the hand that feeds it, like in Zimbabwe and South Africa.
