Kudos to Oculus team for getting it RIGHT!

I just installed the new SDK for my Macbook Pro. Not a fancy machine, not top of the line, but a decent machine for game development. Let me back up a bit. I tried running the Tuscany VR demo on my daughters PC. A good HP computer with quadcore and 8 gigs of ram. Decent graphics card for what a 450+ computer would give you. I noticed a lot of judder when testing the Tuscany Demo. Still a pleasant experience. I enjoyed the heck out of it

Last night I finally figured out how to run one of the Tuscany demos on my mac. I had to drag the darn game window to the oculus screen to see it(fixed on extended display). But when I did that I notcied NO judder, NO latency, the fracking thing just worked beautifully :o :o :o . I mean gosh darn it i felt like i was really there until I stood up that is. Felt like tipping over from moving around. That's just it... my brain was fooled and that's what it's all about for me.. I loved it so much. So kudos for getting it right Oculus team..Ku..fucking..dos.

This is mee today :D :o :D :o    :P :P

  • I very much agree. It's amazing to see so much progress happening so fast.

I tried several DK2 demos at SIGGRAPH this week. They were phenomenal. I especially liked the pacific rim experience. The head tracking is very noticeable and adds to the realism. The field of view feels wider and the latency feels lower. Huge progress over the DK1. I can’t wait to see what they do for the consumer version.
