- @BlastaMasta early on with the rift release, scalpers were selling the cv1 on flea bay. Cyber came on here and said in the T and C's that there was a clause about loss of warranty to the new buyer from the original seller. That still stands I believe?
- AnonymousMy suggestion not to buy Oculus was not related to warranty, I am just not impressed with it myself, and the issues with it. The more I read this forums the bitter I am getting finding out about more issues, and bullshit surrounding it.
Honestly, if I knew all of that, I would wait for gen 2
I always thought warranty is respected as long you can prove the date of purchase, guess I was wrong. - Warranty can be passed from buyer to buyer in the UK mate, I've done it with a TV before, but for some reason oculus stopped this ? Yes, cv1 has limitations but remember that it is first generation. For what it is and does for my simming it's definitely a game changer for me ;)
- AnonymousI had fun with it as well, but you would think they wouldn't go backwards and made the optics worse than DK2... not to mention USB problems.
well... you live, you learn... just hope mine won't break too early, I would be really pissed now I know they won't take it under warranty. - bigmike20vtVisionary

the optics are not perfect but to suggest they are worse than DK2 is just not true imo.
yes there are the godrays, but they can be worked around by the people making the app as some colour combinations are worse than others... but the chromatic aberration of DK2 was awful and the sweetspot on the lens was tiny.
in say Assetto Corsa there is practically zero god rays for me, and with the increase resolution its night and day better in actual use.
usb problems i cant argue with, I agree they are poor and oculus need to be more upfront that once you go beyond 2 cameras users may need to buy a usb3 controller even if their pc has a compatible one on board.
there are lots to lambast oculus for, i am no white knight, but inferior optics to dk2? no chance imo. - As a long time dk2 user I agree. Cv1 is far superior optically.
- AnonymousI am taking a break from the forum and negativity then and will try enjoy playing games. Let's hope they fix the issues sooner than later. I'll come back when I cool down, and have anything positive to say.
- OK mate take it easy and enjoy ;)
