Making easy things hard

Yesterday I got a popup in the headset saying I had 30 days to enter my birth date if I wanted to use my account.
I don't really understand why I have to re-enter my birth date since the date is in my account details anyway.
Maybe because of the switch from Meta to the Horizon app??

But okay, it's no big deal to re-enter the birth date......I thought.
I did it in the mobile app.
You can't type it in...you have to scroll back the months. SCROLLING

12 months = 1 year, then the next 12 months, then.......😯
I'm old, lol...I had to scroll forever until i was in my year of birth😂

How could anyone think of doing it like that.....bad idea.

    😂That must be the reason.

    If you have to put in your bith date again too, it's maybe better to use the webpage.

    I saw the mail with that option only after scrolling back................732 times!

    It would be funny if they did need to verify my age, I've been on this forum for 11 years. Although maybe I released my OgreOculus API wrapper when I was only a 1 year old, so I'm not 13 yet.  🙂

    Yeah, would be pretty ridiculous.😅
    Probably you won't have to re-enter your birth date........but who knows?

    Seems kind of random who gets asked to do that.
    Until now I also couldn't imagine I would have to ......because there isn't any reason for that.

    Unfortunately this is the price we all pay for Meta adding in the 10-12 years accounts. As soon as they stopped saying "nobody under 13" they became liable to the COPPA law and have to be very careful of ages.

      Yes, I understand the reason.
      But it's still random because not each account have to give in the birth date again.
      But nevermind.....if I ever have to it again, I will avoid doing it in the mobile app😂

    So they did ask me to verify my birthday. (I guess they do think I was 1 when I joined here)

    But I got it as an email. Clicked the link, the day, month and year each had a drop down list. No huge scrolling.

      I also received the email ......sadly, I saw the  pop up in the mobile app first and did my scroll horror there.
