Meta took my money and I have no Quest 3

Has anyone else had to deal with this...

I bought a Meta Quest 3, and when it arrived at my home, it turned out to be defective and would not charge.

I wrote Meta support and tried all their suggestions. Nothing helped.

Finally, they sent me a RMA return label and instructions to reset it back to factory and send the whole kit back for replacement.

I followed their directions, and got the packages shipped back to them. However, when they received it, I get no replacement.

When I asked about it, they then said that I should not have included the controllers (though their directions said to remove their batteries before sending). They told me I would have to wait for those to be sent back to me, and they provided another RMA label for those.

The controllers came back, and I sent them back as instructed.

The tracking shows that they arrived, and were signed for on April 27, 2026. However, their website still says "Awaiting arrival".

I keep writing support and trying to get some help. I sent them the proof that the controllers arrived and were signed for by "KMARABLE". However, they keep telling me things like "the warehouse is looking for the package.", "We've already coordinated with our warehouse... we'll continue monitoring", "we'll provide you with an update as soon as the item is located"...

I keep getting the run around. Meanwhile I have nothing to show for my $500 but frustration.

There's no phone number I can call to speak to someone in person. It's been 3 weeks since they got the parts back.

I don't know what recourse I have other than losing my money.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks, community.

  • That's my worry as well. I'm afraid to purchase any new technology that is associated, as tech support is nearly non existed my humans. Only Ai that spits the same over and over selected messages. Learned my lesson with Facebook when it got disabled, "You can appeal within 30days" yea, right no way to do it at all. Spend days reading everything, trying everything, even sending a letter to Meta HQ about it. Nothing.

Currently looking at the glasses with build in screen... But Questionable....

  • Hey Choleni,

You may be interested to know that you were right.

When I finally wrote Meta and threatened them with getting an attorney, all of a sudden they found the package and approved the return. I'm sure Meta has lawyers who could destroy me, but they may not want the publicity it could bring.

Thanks again for the suggestion and replying in and of itself.

    Cheers mate.

  • Choleni,

Thank you very much for your reply and suggestions.

It's sad that it has to come to this, but I really have a new outlook on what kind of company Meta is. Will keep this post up to date with any progress.

Have a great evening, and thanks again.

Unfortunately not. The only options are email, chat or WhatsApp HERE

Ignore the email option - you already tried that - and use chat or WhatsApp. Hopefully, this works better.

You have the option of taking legal action and....... you should tell Meta that you are ready to do that. It might help. You have proof that the controllers have been arrived. ๐Ÿ˜‰
