Microsoft NEARS DEAL to buy Mojang. END OF MINECRAFT VR?

Microsoft is gearing to buy Mojang AB, makers of Minecraft for $2Billion.

If this deal is successful, what does it mean for VR Mods for Minecraft?
Cease and Desist letters? Does this spell the end of our long time wish for Minecraft VR?

Wouldn't it be hillarious if Notch was pissed off at Facebook buying Oculus VR for $2Bn,
but have no issues with Microsoft buying Mojang for $2Bn?

    Well, he did recently say he'd changed his mind on it. I'm sure $2billion is enough to change most people's minds. :)

    I expect this to be a rumor, since I read an interview where they said they're a healthy company and do it because it's what they love. But you never know. Some things surprise me - remember when Oracle purchased Sun? Adobe purchased Macromedia? Google purchased Keyhole?

    The Mod community is part of the reason Minecraft has been so successful, I don't think Microsoft would try to ruin that if they bought Mojang. The only reason I can see they doing something against a Minecraft VR project is if they're planning to do it themselves (if they truly do buy Mojang, that is).

    It's common knowledge Microsoft would be working on their take on VR. John Carmack already offered to incorporate it with DK2 so Microsoft had to jump in with investment.

    Microsoft hopefully will incorporate 4k curved AMOLED , wireless support, mobile connectivity with 7.1 surround sound and call it XVR :)
