mouse mod i did to combat carpal tunnel syndrome i was experiencing
i made a video on youtube called
i had suffered carpal tunnel syndrome from playing too much c s go with a heavy mouse. I lift the mouse a lot when i play.
I read about a mouse called a Vertical mouse, i got the adesso i mouse e3.
the mouse was hard to pick up and this made me tighten my hand to compensate which aggravated my hands carpal tunnel syndrome.
so i put on two branches on the mouse for my ring finger and thumb to touch so i don't need to clench my hand to pick up the mouse.
the branch for my ring finger is made up of two parts the branch and stabilizer that holds it still.
the branch is made up of rolled up electric tape and stacked up and then curled on top of the branch to serve as a hook my ring finger touches.
my thumb finger branch is a piece of plastic i found in my drawer for holding down cables on the floor the kind you nail in and i taped that on the mouse.
i went through a lot of trial and error and found this method to work.
my hand also wears a winter mitten with the fingers and palm cut out to serve to keep my hand from moving too much.
i figure it keeps my hand more still being a psychological trick and it seems to work. and the mitten palm bottom is soft to lay my hand on the steel series mouse pad.
i put some velcro on the wrist of the mitten to hold the mitten tighter on the hand to serve as more of a tight feel to keep my hand more still using psychology.
this way my hand stays more still and moves less so is less likely to create carpal tunnel syndrome.
its healed up my hand now and it feels good.
i'm writing about this to help people who suffer from wrist pain from playing pc games like csgo and overwatch.
maybe if oculus is making a controller that can make the ring finger and thumb branches similar to the ones i made.
