My dream of Tactile Haptic VR Gloves

Between sleeping and getting out of bed I thought through a little design for tactile haptic gloves. I thought the idea was cool and just spent the last hour trying to articulate my thoughts on virtual paper. So here it is! What do you think? Anyone else ever draw their own? :D

  • This is a really good idea! this design looks simple yet able to give a convincing haptic feedback.
  • The idea is great, though I doubt that wires alone will be sufficient in limiting if not overpowering human effort. I think it would require something like a complete Exoskeleton. IMHO, the precise simulation of tactile and 'force' feedback is what really is going to make the VR experience complete, this is an interesting approach to achieving that.

I think the right kind of super strong wiring could limit finger movement. Thicker cables for elbow arm movement, after that... good luck!

Anyway, really like this idea as I too have often thought about various 'solutions' to VR problems and let them go, this idea seems pretty well formed on paper and the air pouches is a nice touch (no pun intended) to give that pressure back to our fingers/palm.

As with anything like this prototypes would be the next step but definitely looks worth pursuing even if just for fun if it doesn't actually work out.

Keep up the good ideas! VR needs 'em! :)
