:O The Mayans were [almost] right! 2012..

Not VR related, however, figured I'd share for those that don't read the news.. a new article came up, it appears that the Mayans were almost right! It was revealed by scientists that we actually almost got "blasted back into the stone age" in 2012.. too bad it didn't happen :evil:

    Or they were a little bit off predicting the end of the old age and the dawn of the new - the Rift's kickstarter was launched around the same time as the end of the Long Count as well. ;)

    I'm not surprised that something like this might have happened. There was some very real doom fear coming from everyone that year.

    It also makes me wonder how often Earth has been close to doom. Things like the Cuban missile crisis and flyby asteroids probably happen more often than people know.

    While we're in interesting times with this accelerated technological advancement, it's easy to forget that all of this can go away very quickly.
