Oculus rift isn't displaying any other games other than TF2?

I tried playing TF2 (and it worked just fine) how ever when I start up the movie cinema program or if I try launching mirrors edge with Vireio perception or portal 2 (the game can move around) but the display isn't going into my oculus rift.

How can I get my oculus rift to display the game that's on my monitor? I'm new to the rift -_-

Edit : Minecraft is doing the samething!

    oh good idea, (I haven't even thought about that) hmm I will let you know if that works. That didn't even come to mind actually. ;-;
  • Yes you have to set "duplicate monitors" for a lot of game(especially Unity games),but usually if you want to play UDK games or for example Hawken or a lot of game don't made in unity you have to set "Extend monitors".

    Hope to be useful :)
  • This is normal, most games will default to the primary monitor.

    For Unity demos you can create a shortcut and then add this to the end of the target field:

    -Adapter 1

    Which will target the second monitor (usually the Rift).

    You may have to change the number to 0 or 2 depending on your setup.

    Thanks mate, this actually worked, I had to unplug my second monitor (in order to get it to duplicate)
    which is why I guess I couldn't get it to work earlier.
