Olympics VR 2016 ‘Rio Edition’ Review:

Bringing the excitement of the Olympic Games reality into
Virtual Reality – I was excited to try out this new ‘Olympics VR 2016 game’.

It
was much shorter than I expected so although it lacks longevity, the developer
clearly captured the realism of this year’s Olympics very well indeed!

You play as it follows the story of ‘Ivan’, a Russian
Olympic Decathlete.

Ivan is the main and only character you can take control of as
you compete in 10 well known Olympic events.

The title scenes were awesome as it shows events such as Running,
Javelin, pole-vault and long jump to name only but a few.

After much anticipation and build up, I was a little disappointed
at first to find that just as the game was about to start... I was presented
with a message stating that I had unfortunately been banned from competing in this years Games due
to steroid abuse, and then the game suddenly was over - returning me back to
the Home screen.

I must admit after a few goes, I truly felt what it must
feel like to be a Russian athlete at the Olympic Games this year.

I can’t wait now to try the Winter Olympics VR in 2018 !!

  • No one ?
Not even a little smile even ??

Dammit.. I should have known everyone on here was too smart to fall for this :(

Grrr - Ill have to try harder next time ;)

  • LOL just saw that :) Can you move that to Off-Topic though please?

I chuckled as I read this
  • joking aside, i actually feel so sorry for any Russian athlete who ISNT a cheat.  I cant believe (ok i choose not to believe) the entire sporting population of Russia are cheats, so with this in mind, there are presumably some totally innocent athletes who have dedicated their entire life to their sport/what ever, and now, even if they do really well and achieve a medal, the vast majority will assume they did it by cheating.

the people who did it are scum, and sadly have tainted an entire nation of Olympians (arguably it taints the entire competition regardless of country), which is sad indeed.

  • Yep if jokes are put to the side, it is indeed unfair on many I am sure on the no doubt many athletes who didn't cheat... they will of course know who they are.  Sadly everyone else doesn't, so its a case of we don't know who did.. so unfortunately you have to punish them all.  Case of a few spoil things for the many which happens in so many walks of life.

Man: "Hey Mr Bee keeper... one of your bees just stung me and I demand justice ! "
Beekeeper "Certainly sir.. tell me which one it was and I'll punish it"

(lets just assume they were not honey bees for the sake of it)

Does anyone know how I move a post into off topic and I will happily oblige ?
I've poked around here but cant see where I would do this.  Maybe I'm going blind. (Id appreciate no speculation on what might be the cause)
