PC games minimize

So, I think I know the answer to my own question but, I've been playing Skyrim more and the game minimizes about every 30 minutes or so ( I have tried various fixes for this mainly from watching YouTube how to videos and I cant fix it ), I am assuming if my game minimizes the Rift screen will revert to my desktop and thats what I will see?

Like I'll be playing Skyrim (or whatever) and then the all of a sudden the screen will become my desktop ?

Then at this point I will have to take the Rift off, or hit ctrl+alt blind or something ?

Any comments welcome. Thanks.

I have not recieved my Rift yet, but, I am under the assumption you basically see whats on your monitor in the Rift.

  • So you don't own a Rift, and you are having problems with a game that has nothing to do with VR - and you decide to post a question in the Rift forums, when this obviously has nothing to do with the Oculus Rift, or VR?
    Ummm.. ok.
  • To be fair, this post is in the "off-topic" forum.

Sorry don't have an answer for you. Probably something in the background grabbing focus (like Windows Update).

Ya thanks Cybereality, I know it's a vague issue which is difficult to tackle without being hands on, I'm just taking long shots here because it is an issue that will effect my Rift gameplay

My main question was if the Oculus screen sees/registers exactly what the monitor does

    @ Codafrost

I ordered and paid for one on November 3rd so, I'd say I can ask a minor technical question or two, got the processing mail today ... so technically I do own one.

And yes, this is off topic. C'mon.
  • i think that depends how you set it yup, cloned or extended, Im guessing extended mode shouldnt have that problem?

    thank you for the advice

I don't know what extended mode is tho. Is that a Rift mode I can set ?

If you mean format my C drive, I could possibly do that
