Position in the queue and delivery orders position of Oculus

I did the pre-order of Oculus Rift. Downloaded the SDK and I studied the code. I have a great curiosity to see the Oculus. I'm no forecast of when it will be sent. There is no date, since the queue is long. It would be interesting, at least, we know what position we are in the queue and, to what extent has already been met. Would it not be possible to have this information on the site or published weekly on this forum? Our position on pre-order could be sent by e-mail. What do you guys think?

This will help me in my implementation plans of Oculus Rift.

  • I agree and honestly Oculus has been a bit cryptic on this and all i have offically so far is that Palmer himself said last week to me that the May pre-order shipping for recient orders is still on and that while they said 1,000 to 1,500 units a week it will RAMP UP and having to wait till "July" is not correct.

    So for the time being ill just assume late May there is a spreedsheet going around about esstimates but i think based on that infomation is not correct.

    Oculus really needs to ..now that shipping is actually happing at least i would suggest by the end of the week give us a status update, maybe some sort of like you say...rough estimate about when orders will be shipped.

    theyve just been rather silent/cryptic on this lately and i HOPE someone will give us a better update soon would be great if someone from Oculus or support would reply to one of these forums or post a blog update soon.

    But as long as the units are getting out to people now thats a major step so at least that is happening . now the question is how long is the wait ;-).

    theoretically they can make about 10,000 units per month if they ramp up to 500 units per day like posted on the Nov Blog so . even if it has a slow start say the first few weeks if they ramp up say towards the end of April to 2,500 units a week then they can easily fullfill pretty much all orders up to this point by the end of May.

    I understand people would like to know status.

    However, with such a small team, if they are all making good progress on other key things,
    we can estimate when we might receive based on users telling us their info.
    I imagine they are shipping roughly in order.
  • Does anyone have info why international orders are not sent out? Seems only US domestic are sent out according to the Rift Tracker sheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc ... oTlE#gid=0

    I see orders past my own order number processed, but those are all US deliveries.

    Here they state that they're shipping international orders in bulk to each respective country, probably in order to minimize extra costs for them and/or us as well as minimize other problems with shipping.
