Of course it makes a difference. Imagine the same part read by Charlton Heston and Gilbert Godfried. Play the core calibration game in The Lab and listen to the voices of the various cores. Very effective at eliciting a reaction in your head. Funny too. The voice characters are used to achieve an effect. The outcome will be different in each case.
