Real life super human abilities through techology

Just brainstorming for potential future of what we as humans could achieve short term and long term, and thinking of most lilkely versions like near sonic speed or extreme stream like exo suit style, any more comments would be awesome and to generate cool and realistic solutions, we could change the world! :D

  • Not sure if it relates, but some time ago I was thinking about the big issue of VR input, and how we want that VR input to match real life activity to reduce nausea and increase immersion...

And what I was thinking was : If I could control my environment with a headset, I would want to control it with a headset, not continue to do it manually for old times' sake.

I don't want to get up to change channel, I'm fine with the TV remote.
I don't want to go pick up the telephone, I'm fine with carrying a smartphone on me, and voicing a request to that smartphone instead of having to type it. In fact it would be even better if I didn't need to carry a smartphone to voice a request (cybernetic implant, retinal display screen...).
If every door in my house was an automatic sliding door that could identify me, I would be fine with each door sliding open in front of me.
If I could steer my chair around, I wouldn't bother walking.
If I could teleport, I wouldn't bother driving a car.
Basically if I could do anything by just waving a technological wand in a certain way, I would wave that wand in a certain way to get anything done...

That's my super human ability through technology for you : Eye/Mind/Voice/Gesture control, as the natural way to interact with everything.

    Or extreme laziness, whatever ^^°

    :)

There was a kickstarter for a ring that contained an rfid chip (actually, two). If you had a mobile phone with NFC you could unlock it just by picking it up. You could put rfid sensors around your house and do things like unlock doors or turn things on/off just by waving your hand near them.
(I would have bought one, except I don't like wearing rings and I really wanted it for unlocking card doors at my work, but they don't use rfid frequency)
    nfcring.com
Imagine how cool you'd look if you could get on a bus (or be on a train platform) and pay by fist bumping the sensor! :)
  • It was designed for military operations.. whaddya expect?
