Referrals in Unsupported Countries

Am i able to redeem my US friend's referral link if i live in an unsupported country? (Brazil)

I have a friend that lives in the US that plays VRChat with me (i'm on PC), and he said that if i bought a headset and set it up with his referral link we both would get some credit on the Meta Horizons Store, i bought a headset, and it arrived today, but i couldn't follow him because i live in Brazil and his referral link doesn't work, i've been searching for this information for about an hour with no satisfying answer so i made this post, i already activated my headset without it because it wasn't worth the hassle, but if it can help someone else with the same question then i'll be satisfied.
