i cant imagine what it would be like to experience VR while trippin balls on hardcore psychedelics.
ganja yea (although I would advise against it on first time use) LSD and shroom yea but very powerful celestial fungus DMT and Salvia are not typically what you would call recreational. they more like spiritual teachers. DMT in particular especially if you go the ayahuasca brew method. you better have a very good reason, question/inquiry prepared before you go on that journey....
i agree with you that education/awareness of drugs is more important then just saying "drugs are bad" but moderation is key theres also the matter of toxicity and the issue of legality
plus once you alter your mind there is no un-altering it there is no going back. the brain is surprising very malleable a la neuroplasticity. mind altering drugs literally alter your mind as if re-wiring connections altering the code changing your perception altering your priorities thus is the path towards addiction. especially if the drug sends erroneous signals across your mesolimbic pathway artificially reinforcing that reward status.
with powerful long lasting psychedelics always ALWAYS error on the side of caution and have a sane sitter watch your back capable of comforting you should you slip into depths of darkness despair and panic.
also i love the stoned ape theory :D
I never had a full gaming/"watching" session in the rift on psychedelics, I just tried it for a short time to see what it's like.
It's not as crazy as one thinks it is, maybe that changes with the DK2.
What do you mean with "celestial fungus" ?
And you are wrong, ALL drugs CAN be used recreationally.
I like to use psychedelics and dissociatives (ketamine cures depression and reliefs social anxiety for weeks in a single dose less-than-treshold dose, has no side effects and has more research behind it than any other antidepressive medication) as powerful exploring/healing tools, but also for recreation purposes.
DMT is purely recreational when smoked, ayahuasca is what can do the healing.
Salvia can be used for recreation but it's not enjoyable for everyone.
I think you mistake Salvia with "
getting pushed by your friends to try a way too strong 100X extract of salvia for the first time and you dont even know what you just smoked", which explains those youtube videos.
I used many different psychedelics for more than 100 times and I ALWAYS tripped alone.
While a sitter makes a lot of sense for newbie users, i's not absolutely neccesary.
plus once you alter your mind there is no un-altering it there is no going back
Well, the mind get's altered every second of your life.
New neuronal connections are made, old ones die off whatever you do.
Smartphones and using the internet alter the reward system in the same way amphetamines/cocaine does.
It's an ongoing process, you can't say "once you did drugs and they altered your mind, there's no way to regain your old self".
Many Hardcore drug addicts (heroin, methamphetamine, nicotine, GABAergics can be cured by a single ibogaine dose for example. Methadon is just to get people addicted on another drug to make money of it.
I think VR-sickness has other receptors/pathways involved than the "normal" nausea which can be cured by dopamine d2 antagonists/ 5ht3a antagonists / THC/CBD/CBN.
The "VR sickness" is more like a tobacco flash.
Feeling hot, cold sweat, feeling dizzy and confused senses.
