I'm clearly not satisfied of my kit buying to Oculus for severals reasons.
First I can't use or even test my kit on my Intel machine, it wasn't clearly wrote on site, the only documentation source. To me it's a lie for customers so out of real market. I repeat I can't use my kit on my machine that isn't fair.
Secondly not cross platform in 2015 it's a shame. Microsoft ever does bad work in OS, with all money they have they can to give an open solution, maybe in 2044? I tried to install once again 8.1 but no wireless connection why? we don't know. Their OS fails for any atomic setting from my VM (parallels 10) that I bought with my money 100% honest. Windows works only on exotic PCs home made by young gamers. Microsoft ever refuses to negotiate with computers Intel partners as OS X or Linux. Microsoft produces for immature kids obsessed by gaming when they are adults suddenly they stop gaming by miracle.
Thirdly I tried to use OS X sdk a real nightmare to use, managing two monitors with display settings in system preferences that isn't the solution.
Conclusion: I spent €900 for an incompatible kit that wasn't expressly warn for consumers. To sell to developers (check forums they aren't programming but gaming) is very handy, oculus isn't responsible but they are paid 100% bonus for them.
I believed into VR, it's human after all, but now I'm convicted it's a big shit. Monitors are far better to do graphics work.
Why microsoft ? Because J. Lanier is employed by them so it won't be open but screw to your bank account. Lanier has finally a job, I'm happy for him but his invention is obsolete in 2015.
