Sell my Razer Hydra?

Hey all,

I have a mint condition Razer Hydra controller set that I never use.... I am thinking about selling it, and noticed that they still sell for $200-$300. Is there something I'm missing with these that are inflating the value? Should I keep them?

Thanks!

  • They now work with oculus as touch controllers for vive games and aparently pretty well with the new patch almost as good as the wands in most reviews. I was going to grab a pair untill I saw they skyrocketed to 300+ dollars :(  I still might grab a pair since I wont be getting the touch controllers when they finally get released. Just hope Vive doesent pull an Oculus and try to stop the rift from working on steam VR. Or its 300$ down the drain...
  • @Mwilliams78 Don't worry, it doesn't make any sense for them to do that and especially not since that would mean doing a 180 on everything they have said this far.
  • Just sold mine for 150 pounds.

I figure it this way, many vive games once the novelty wears off have a short longevity. The hydra also has very short leads which is a bit of a pain when trying to play the games. I kept pulling it off the worktop and then moved it to the centre of the floor and began tripping over it when not getting tied in knots.

So any good game I would want to save for the touch and as soon as it launches my Hydra is going to be worth a fraction of the cost it is now.

There will probably be a market for them for quite a bit yet.  It's true that Touch will basically kill the market for them with respect to the Rift, but you'll still have HMDs like OSVR out there with no first party solution... which is hilarious given Razer's association with both.
  • Had them in an unopened box but gave them away to a friend the other day since I don't plan on playing any games that requires hand tracking until the touch controllers comes out.
  • If I had some I would sell now while you can. after touch comes out the will be worth a lot less.
  • I always thought they were overpriced turkeys. Never could figure why people would pay so much for them.
  • I thought about getting them until I saw the average price for a used pair here in Aus was $300+
