Cleverusername (not until april 16) (even though these 2 guys mentioned he was important, I never watched their links, but after last night the meme finally stuck.

Summary
I’m a global technology innovator with multiple patents and leadership + business acumen for international consumer product development. I’m a multi-cultural relationship builder and facilitator and have lived and worked in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China.

So was attending the event with Rob Hommel of http://www.f15sim.com, there was some new 3D printing tech and Bluetooth beacon tech we wanted to see, and this Kennard guy takes the stage, (he said he was also a geneticist) and everyone was very impressed with his talk, and he is saying Sinek, watch his talk on WHY, that it was the most mindblowing thing Kennard said he had seen in a long time. So you got earl grey, geekmaster, myself, and Kennard saying to watch Sinek! SO do it already! It relates to the Palmer Luckey LET GO meme. (maybe he can take his own advice?)

Now on to some of Sinek's points relating to Oculus, I would boil down to this, if things stop being FUN! you better stop wasting your life going down that path, it is of the darkside!

SO I am just gonna tie that into a brony pony meme, if its no longer FUN, and you and your pals can't laugh about a brony pony pic all in good spirit, then maybe someone desperately needs to watch this simon sinek video for some spiritual guidance?

So the next night we are at the seattle VR meetup at digipen and trey blalock (he says no relation to Jolene blalock of star trek - LOL!) of http://www.firewallconsultants.com and he is telling me to check out ALTERED CARBON by Richard K Morgan http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Altered_Carbon and how that may be relevant to the oculus facebook buyout. (can anyone elaborate why? I have never heard of altered carbon) And then he mentions Simon Sinek too and what a great talk that was! So fate strikes again, dismiss sinek at your own peril? ;) Seems the mass consciousness of the universe is pushing sinek memes at me.

The seattle VR meetup was pretty cool, I met with dave of vrcade, howard rose, ari Hollander, was supposed to meet with brian bruning but he got tied up on a flight so we met with Christina engel of Technical Illusions, she said they were making an RFID grid that will be installed behind the castar reflective material and it can track 200 markers.

Anyways here were the guys working on Diluviam? http://daveturka.com/games.php
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mNjl7PetGbk

I am pretty sure this is the game Sessler was talking to Marley Magner about at GDC mentioned in the geekmaster GDC thread.

And the guys working on project team odyssey at digipen:

http://www.linkedin.com/in/kevingiang

The guys from Giant Vs Horde https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/impossibleobject/giant-vs-horde-battle-a-real-human-without-limits

Then there was Greg Howes of ideabuilderhomes.com talking about how using the rift to build 3d printed homes.

My buddy Rob Hommel with Christine of Technical Illusions

Dave of VR cade

Rob testing some new VR audio stuff

The guys from Sixense

And our wonderful host Ari Hollander (the wise old sage looking through their pain management S3D project is Tom, who was director at the Human Interface lab at UW at some point.)

Tom Furness is the International Director of the Human Interface Technology Lab (USA,  NZ, AU)

Anyways norwescon is going on in seattle right now and I want to see who wins the Philip k dick award for most crazy multiple personality type stuff so I have to jet dear readers ;) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philip_K._Dick_Award

  • Ps I have to add the goonies story, I was wearing my goonies t-shirt, and (he requested identity removal - and that I was wrong on the museum, it was the house) doing the cool VR audio project saw it and told me I need to go to Astoria, that he had been, to the GOONIES house! I was like wtf? You have been to the real place, goonies forever man! LOL! And he told me a lot of stuff about it, and got me excited about going, and then a few minutes later over at Ari Hollanders display was some cool guy who worked with boeing in marketing or media somehow, Ari knew him well, and he saw my goonies t-shirt and said MAN! Astoria, have you been to the old house used in the movie, and I was like no, wassup? He said I helped build the sets for the movie! Mind blown! I said man anonymous guy over at the VR audio booth was just telling me he went, and got me inspired to go, and this boeing guy was like no way, I know him, just talked to him about some VR audio stuff, I had no idea he liked the goonies! And the boeing guy said I have to go over there and talk goonies with him now! So fate, serendipity, hell I don't know, you decide! I do know the goonies are good enough for me! yah yah yah lol!

(I wonder neil and Palmer, would the goonies laugh behind someones back about secret black ops stuff, DOD stuff, a guy just trying to have some fun/adventure in life, and try to get him banned from GDC, why aren't the goonies good enough for you guys?) (You guys are like roddy piper in this video, lovely peasants! Rowdy roddy is so happy to see his lovely peasants! LOL! - BWAAHHAHAH! I have met him a few times, Rowdy Roddy, he wears a kilt so that makes him cool, plus he was living in Oregon so not too far to visit - and who can forget his movie ROLE THEY LIVE, where he predicted facebook propaganda control that only peeps with the right set of VR goggles could see - LOL!)

LOL! Oh Roddy, you always crack me up man!
  • I would have been there too, but Jeri Ellsworth went to China so I postponed my trip. May our paths intersect upon some other day...

I listened to the Altered Carbon audio book a year ago or so. Sadly, I cannot remember any details about that title without some hints. Perhaps time to check it out again, eh?

  • Was hanging out with Gene Buckle and Rob Hommel again today, guys are totally cool open source heroes. Another guy interested in the 3d printing rotomaak http://rotomaak.com/ that they have written lots of how to's and manuals for (for FREE open source no less)
comes in talking about the oculus, the shenanigans with kickstarter years ago, how he was bitter with what happened and the sellout, and the pitch in my voice changes, the emotions start rising to the surface again (he does not know me or my feelings with Palmer on that issue going back to 2009), and they all make it very clear to me in my own way that I am far too emotionally attached to that topic. My spock side is losing control. Not taking Sinek's advice in the video above, and just having sent a very emotionally charged email to cyber and palmer for which I must apologize and apologize to Neil too for reflecting back at him the hate he showed to me, must ascend above that evil. Whatever evil was done as I perceive it, its hypocritical of me to let that affect me and let darkness, hate, rage, emotions into my heart, I am not taking my own advice I am giving out here about Buddha and mithrandir and star treks day of the dove episode, Gene and Rob really made me realize that today. So I need to take a break for a few days and step back and recalibrate. Before I go, attended an augmented reality Meetup.

http://3david.com/ With David Choi, talking about AR bots (AR sexbots? lol) He was at emerald city comic con showing the kiddies lots of cool AR animated models, And they brought up the Epson Moverio BT-200 AR glasses mentioned here:

http://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/best-augmented-reality-apps/#!E3gc6 (good article with all the best AR apps)

And we had a long talk about mocap systems and that being the best solutions for VRcades for the near future with the least amount of nausea.

Anyways my last post for awhile until I can find some peace and be a better member on these forums without so much emotion that so many are complaining about... I really don't know life at all.. Take us out Bing Crosby ....
