Yep it's a pity as Games Workshop could have used Space Hulk as an opening move to their turn based tactical board games.

Also keeping your surviving troops and levelling up their kit and abilities should be standard.
It seems like the early version had a lot of QA and performance problems, which probably dropped their review scores a notch or two.
