I'm sure that anyone who has never tried VR would be blown away by something like this. However, here's an honest Review from a Reddit user who was already experienced with the Rift before trying this Void experience:I was lucky enough to get a ticket to this on its opening day. I mostly agree with the review... I went in with a teenage kid who had never used VR before and it blew his mind. I've had a rift for a few months at this point and I can say that at present, the Void's tracking solution is really cool in that it can track your hands without gloves or a controller, but it is glitchy. Not so bad that it ruined the experience, but my hands definitely stretched and lagged a few times. The gun tracking worked well though. I agree with the review that it didn't feel very satisfying to shoot.It was a really cool experience, but I was disappointed in that it wasn't a very good game. I was hoping for something more like laser tag or paintball, but it's a bit more like a (very thematic) shooting gallery that you walk through. It is very mechanically simple. I play a lot of robo recall because the gun play is so satisfying. But this... I did it once and had fun. I'm glad I did it, but I don't feel like I would ever need to do it again.The Void really needs to rethink their core design if they want to have a lot of recurring visitors, especially if they want to appeal to people who already own VR systems. I mean... here we have someone who would rather just go back to playing Robo Recall than visit The Void again. Yikes!

I think there is a miss-understanding on what the Star Wars VR Experience is in London, and what the version in the US is. The UK one is a promotional for the film and tech linked to a deal with the mall. The three locations in the US (soon to be joined by a LV venue) are part of a dedicated facility plan.You might be interested in a more permanent venue in Milton Keynes and a new venue in Whitelys London.

I'll let my brother know, he's a Star Wars nut... although he probably has all the details already. I bought him pancake moulds for his birthday & this is his May 4th Facebook post.
I went with him to the Star Was exhibition in Westminster some time ago.... & asked if this was Starfleet Academy as we went into the Jedi training class and nearly started a riot.

A few points here:

Here is what people are forced to wear for this SW experience, "This is coupled with the fact that you wear the computer powering the experience in a laser-quest like breastplate." No one in that outfit should ever accuse someone of "looking silly."
The article poses this question, "The return of the arcade?"
This is a clear indication that arcades are currently dead and trying to make a return. It may happen one day, but those involved may want to be a bit more humble. Forgetting their roots (Home VR with the Rift Demo Kit) and needlessly ridiculing the masses is only going to invite the type of karma that will make "the return of the arcade" that much more difficult.
