- mdkHonored GuestThat is a pretty neat video. I agree that the price is a bit absurd. Something like the stem with just the 2 controllers could be a the goto control solution for most VR games. With a 299 dollar price tag it seems more like a niche product. even for enthusiast the price seems a bit too expensive. 299 dollars for the 5 tracker pack would in my mind be pretty reasonable.
In any case it will be interesting to see what type of device will end up being the universal control method for most VR games and experiences. - I think the kickstarter prices were more realistic ($199 for two controllers, $299 early bird for 2 controllers and 5 trackers total).
Although it isn't really that bad. I recently spent $450au on a joystick, almost $500au on the DK2 (due to shipping, gst, etc), $178au for a keyboard and $200 for a Kinect 2. The Hydra cost me over $200 when I got it years ago and the Stem seems to be better in every aspect, so it doesn't seem that bad (at least for the 2 controller version. The 5 sensor version is pretty crazy for price).
Then again I'm biased, I got in on the early bird 5 sensor version for $299. :)
My PrioVR Pro cost $399 (missed the early bird on that one) - noquarterHonored GuestThe Razer Hydra did only cost about $100 .. That would be the price im ready to spend for a motion controller system.

The STEM is a magnitude better that the Razer Hydra. It's later technology and looking at the demos just far better in every way. I'm regretting not backing it but I wasn't sure how much better it would be than the Hydra. I understand that they intend/hope to drop the prices on the post Kickstarter devices once they get into manufacture.
I was lucky and managed to get a Hydra with a 50% off deal when it was £99 (UK) so got it for £49.00 That's about what it's worth imo. - grodenglaiveHonored Guestyeah, that's pretty awesome. Man cannot live on flying sims alone, we need our fps action.
