Re: TDVision Acquires VRelia Technology
Huh!? TDVision is still around?

kydynomyte: pointing out Ethan Schur at TDVision was there even earlier in 2007, only lacking leep optics according to Carl Kenner:

Mentioning TDVision reminded me about the TD Visor which took me to a thread on MTBS3D from 2007 where Carl Kenner wished LeepVR lenses were in the TD Visor, then I think he kind of described kind of how the rift works. I found that thread interesting, thanks for leading me there. Don't know why I didn't come across it years ago when I wanted a TD Visor.

So it all started w putting leep in a tdvisor maybe? How things have come full circle cyber. :)

  • If no one was following, TDVision were the guys that promised the first 720P HD consumer HMD back in 2007 or whatever, and then never followed through. They shipped a few SD prototypes and then disappeared. Most of us probably thought they went under long ago, and I haven't heard their name even mentioned in the past 5 years. Very odd, but I wish them luck.
  • Hi cybereality, looks like an interesting comment to me... I am Manuel, the CEO of TDVision, I don't think we have ever met in person.

TDVision delivered hundreds of 800x600 per eye TDVisors back in 2006 and 2007 for education, medical, military and remote visualization. We showed the 1280x720p per eye at the CES2008 along with the TDVCam of the same resolution.
That same year we presented the First fullHD 3D Blu-ray demo and worked in the first integration of our codec with Cyberlink, Sigma and Magnum
A few months later, in December 2009 the 3D Blu-ray official spec was announced (We have been listed on the ISO/IEC/ITU standard MVC patent statements every year since 2006 - 2014)
In 2009 Demonstrated the First XBOX full HD S3D racing Videogame, along with a firmware update for the ps3 and just for fun a 3D pong game... Sounds interesting too....
Presented the entire 3D Ecosystem in 2010 with content from Warner Brothers, Disney and Vincent Pace/James Cameron
Then 3D successfully penetrated the market, exactly what I wanted...
Last year, in February 2013 TDVision was honored with a Lumiere Award for our contribution to the industry
This year 2014, I launched three new initiatives: AlterSpace, Immersion and AILEENN, and we just fusioned ImmersiON with VRelia at E3.
It is really funny to read your comment "they went under a long ago" specially because all the information is available on the web with a google search of TDVision(I could send you the links if you want to)

It is somehow funny to hear it from a company with an "invention date of 2012"

Cheers! And good luck to you too!

    Respectfully,

    Manuel
