Thank you, everyone at Meta, seriously

I just heard about the latest layoffs. That is horrible.

I just want you all to know how much I appreciate your work on your product, and your assistance with bug hunting. The software industry has never been an easy place to work, and user passion for a product tends to lag about a year behind when it seems to matter.

I feel like the Quest completely renewed my faith and excitement in AR and VR, and I only wish I'd had more time to get products out before Christmas.

I have no idea what the future holds for the Quest, but I hope it continues to evolve and be developed. This is the most fun I've had in software development in years.

Thank you for a wonderful product and community,

Here's a video of me looking at my own code in AR, on the side of my house, outside, using my Meta Quest :D

Be careful, the headset is not meant to be used outdoors. If sunlight gets on the lenses, it will make permanent burn marks on the display.

Oh yeah I'm aware of that. But I use mine outdoors all the time. I have a few backup headsets if something goes wrong, but so far I've probably used it outside for about 200 hours. I'm careful not to use it in direct sunlight though, only use it on overcast days. So far, no damage!
