The Cafe Scene From Nolan Film Inception
Here I am thinking about possible ideas for VR experiences and time and time again I keep coming up with the Cafe scene from the Christopher Nolan Film: Inception.
For those who do not know of the scene, here it is:
I can imagine sitting in the chair and looking around and the very act at looking at something will cause it to change, rotate, flip or explode in super-slow motion.
I can imagine looking at tall buildings and watching them rotate above me and folding and unfolding the landscape as you look at it to create surreal landscapes that are forever changing.
For me, this would be one heck of a VR experience- putting on the Rift, going into the virtual world in the Inception VR demo, then you go into another layer of VR, then another layer...Until you are 6 or so layers deep until you forget which layer you are currently in. :o
Perhaps I should start learning Unity.
Oh and apparently Nolan used REAL explosions and REAL folding sets to create that cafe scene.
Something tells me Nolan+VR=Mindmetling experiences.
