I didn't cause any thread to close. Anyway, the best proof that VR is mainstream is the fact that, in the space of just a couple of years, Oculus Rift, Sony PlayStation and HTC Vive have all come out with headsets competing in the same consumer space. Add to that smart phone VR and the fact that you can now buy headsets at your local Walgreens, and I would say that VR has become pretty mainstream and it is going to remain that way!
