If you are interacting with a different sexual partner in the act of carnal gratification, even if it's a VR playboy bunny being puppeteered by a greasy fat builder down the road then yes you are seeking sexual gratification outside of your relationship or cheating.

If it's with yourself e.g. you are controlling a software VR sexbot then you might have a case for masturbation.

I'm just playing Devil's advocate here, but since there is no physical contact with another human being, virtual sex doesn't qualify as infidelity, no more than watching a movie while using a toy.

So you are not looking for arguments in favor or against, but rather what are our personal beliefs. My apologies - I misunderstood your question.

It would be very different if there's another person taking part. Sexting is cheating - no physical interaction required.

If it's a digital character (i.e. you're just interacting with an algorithm), that could be different. But if your partner isn't comfortable with it, a "is it technically cheating" discussion is kinda beside the point.

I'm just looking for opinions from both sides of an issue, not trying to gross anyone out here. No need to insult me for asking a relevant question.

The part which is in question is how this activity (or another) is viewed in the relationship.... There are some 'swinging' couples that believe that physical sex with other people is OK, whilst there are some partners who believe that having a (non-sexual but) intimate relationship IS cheating.

The answer is that it depends on yourself and your partner. Personally I would consider it cheating, especially if it were done without the knowledge of a partner.

A question was raised in another thread about 're-skinning' ones virtual appearance in VR whilst practicing (real world) sex with your partner.... Is this more than playing fantasy dress-up?

If you tell her about it and she's ok with it, it's not cheating. If you tell her about it and she's not ok with it, but you do it anyway, it is cheating irrespective of what was done. If you don't tell her about it then it's probably cheating because you would have told her about it otherwise. Just some thoughts! :roll:

Just tell her your needs is a part time job she does not want to have…
