epic system, but i'd rather two 780tis or titanZ's than a quadro, a lot more raw horsepower for pumping out those frames of epic goodness
  • Depends on what you want.

That particular configuration is tailored towards critical imaging / large CAD / intense analysis work (Think aircraft / oil rig design / thermal analysis / large Matlab /Feko analysis) and would be overkill for gaming to the point where spending that much money would not result in worthwhile returns. The graphics card specified is also geared towards providing virtual GPU's for multiple users. A rack mounted version of that with a hypervisor and either Citrix or VMware running on that would enable 12 - 24 users access to a virtual cad workstation (mid level model design) or upto around 50 generic office users.
  • Woah ! the final price on that Rig was 9K. when I first look it was 1800 and I was thinking it would go for around 3.5 K ish ( which would be a steal but good value ) its the problem when these sites get to popular the bargins tend to disappear.

im sure I could tailor a better rig with some thing more substantial than that for 9K.
