WEEV on OpenSource & Valley Politics, Andrew Reisse, Goatse

Geek Master, this buds for U.

http://freeweev.github.io/ Please all you cool open source people, help liberate this man, what the state has done to him is too frightening. Write him, help him with some books. (if anythiing so that when he gets free, he isn't so mad and crashes the world credit system in a tyler durden wet dream) LOL!)

Just read this amazing legacy by Reisse at the blog, He was against corporate agreements that restrict an employee’s ability to contribute to open source side projects. When he wasn’t programming at the office, he was learning, reading his favorite web site — slashdot.org — or helping other teammates brainstorm and innovate.

I didn't know any of this until after his death, but it is a wonderful legacy and I am glad I know it now.

Ah slashdot, a hangout for many of us for years and decades. My own username is a play off of wilwheaton who is called "clevernickname" over at slashdot. It warms my heart that Reisse was big in that community. For all the slashdotters there, who remember the GNAA, and the goatse links with the guy showing his bum (ARGH! Weev I got burned so many times at slashdot clicking your links! The mental damage will never go away, I can't never UNSEE it! LOL!) You always made me laugh though Weev and to check myself when I was taking things too serious.

I was concerned what was happening with the rift, open source, news over at ycombinator, zerohedge, Degrasse Tyson talking about star trek V star wars and 1 John 4:20 If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. And I knew Weev, starving and without sunlight in his hole, would be someone who I could ask questions about all these issues. He responded. (better than my crackhead ex girlfriend in prison who never writes me anymore :( Maybe she found a girlfriend who hates me LOL!)

Glad you enjoy my work! Blessed are the lulzists, for they shall embarass the earth. Ycombinator people hate me because I've fucked with so many startups. The histrionics of valley douchebags bragging about their late3st round of funding are irresistable. I cannot help but ruin their days. The tears of stanford graduates and proud ruby hackers give me an iron erection. It's great to be controversial, the incessant discussions and irate blog posts of the haters help me survive the news cycles.

"love thy enemies" doesn't mean you shouldn't exterminate them with a visceral glee. It just means you should talk sweetly while ripping them apart. Sort of like pounding a girl's virgin anus in. (LOL! WEEV you still make me laugh, even locked up in a hole)

I am indeed pretty big on free software. Like Stallman, I believe one should only use free software and abandon all other non-free codes. Stallman is a prophet. I adhere to the church of Emacs.

Zero Hedge is one of the websites I read religously. I also read Amercian Renaissance, Taki's magazine and Reason. Would appreciate items from those. Speaking of Star Trek, I feel a great sense of loss at being unable to watch Benedict Cumberbatch play a galactic terrorist. Thanks for writing! And for books/cash!

Weev at Toorcon 2006 seems high on something, but always making me laugh. I hope enough people can get together and do a million man march on the facility and resist the tyranny of the state and get weev Free, not for his sake, but for all of ours, I wonder what Andrew Reisse would think about that smiling down from heaven?

  • I had a private personal face-to-face chat with Kevin Mitnick for awhile when he was in town shortly after his release. All those "Free Kevin" bumper stickers did not really help him out. But his time has been served. Making a "Free Weev" statement is fine and good, but probably not effective in the grand scheme of things, especially when riot police may be involved.

Oh, and to be even more on topic, here is one to honor Weev:

My sister forwarded this "God's Hands" photo to all her "church friends" (and her family). She was very angry for a very long time after I sent the following snopes link to "Reply All":
    http://www.snopes.com/photos/natural/godhands.asp

That is how her church friends discovered Goatse!

Now let's see you try to "unsee" that!

And in honor of Andrew Reisse, I started studying his code, and I have (finally) decided that it is time for me to "graduate" to C++ instead of being a devoted champion of K&R C.
  • I attended Mitnicks trial, I was in RTP, NC working for IBM at the time. Let us in on the talk? Had you been writing him in prison? I never did, didn't want my peers at IBM to find out any counterculture stuff like that and damage my ascent to VP (that never happened) The news I see all over the planet, lots of people doing lots of things in the streets, on the net, and fear is not the main motivation ;) My uncle was special forces with the Army, was used for Riot Control in DC during the race riots decades ago. Nice guy, very good doing that job, but was totally against how he was used, he has joined some old civil war group and goes around wearing an old civil war officers uniform all the time

Good for your sister, everyone deserves a Goatse laugh! LOL! That damn Weev, I only went to 4chan a couple times in my life, not for the porn, I kept trying to triforce and kept failing, I am a real lonely loser who has no life and only comes here to watch all the kewl coders develop

No, no other communication with him. We just talked a little about his computer access restrictions and his future plans, and whether he would use his fame for leverage into a security/pen testing job. I think he mentioned it being a huge relief to not have to live in fear and hiding anymore, and he would have computer access before long, as I recall.

Another case of pissing off the wrong people, gone terribly wrong. Pissing on an electric fence can do that to you...

It was quite awhile ago now since we spoke, and I have not thought about it much since then, other than being very careful myself since the DMCA and Patriot Act became the laws of the land of the not-so-free and not-so-brave...

I am SHOCKED to find out that there are people in jail now for "hacking" as simple as typing in a URL instead of clicking an "official" web page link. In my opinion, that is not a hack even if it DOES display a page of somebody else's personal information. That is just very badly broken internet "security".
  • As an example of the web page "hack" that has gotten people locked up for hacking, here is a URL to my profile:
    memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=5253

Now, change that number at the end, perhaps by incrementing it:
    memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=5254
And now that new URL pulls up somebody else's information.

Sadly, at SOME websites, that information includes personal information like addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses, social security numbers, credit card numbers, bank account numbers, real name and birth date, and purchase history. Perhaps even medical information. Accessing that information by typing such a URL has been judged as a crime punishable by imprisonment. A good sleazy prosecuting attorney can convince a jury of just about anything, when it comes to technology and scare tactics. But especially when the hacker has an attitude and a public reputation than some may frown on...

It would probably be unwise for the defendent to wear a Goatse T-shirt in the courtroom, for example...
  • I just don't see the state retaining control. I am on a military base right now in Alaska, the base theater is closed, the bowling alley only open half the week, the iditarod dining facility will begin rationing food June 15 because of sequestration. Morale is already disasterous with many of the young people I am talking too. Que up both the AIR FORCE and ARMY SAPR (sexual assault) department heads going down for sexual assault/domestic violence recently. I know of marines that will seek out retribution if anyone tries to lay a sexual assault case against thier commanders. Base commanders in europe and Nato officers telling me downtown Iraq is safer than downtown Miami. Its FARKED! Weev is only the beginning, may you live in interesting times! LOL!
