hopefully this is just taking things to the extreme and will never actually be a thing.....   because if not then George Orwell was right, its 1984 but just come 35
years later than planned.



I have no problem (ok i do have a problem but i have accepted it) with my data not being as private as i would like.... but potentially fishing through it then punishing me for it, despite it being private between consenting adults?

    The social media networks are acting like publishers in banning certain types of speech while continuing to claim to be social media networks. You can’t have it both ways, and their hypocrisy is going to lead to an eventual government inquiry / crackdown.

    Censorship is without a doubt taking hold in the western world.  It never ends well.

    There is censorship and then there is the abuse of free speech ... this is why we can't have nice things, its the minority of toxic immature and vile people that are pushing these networks to have to resort to censorship.

    It's not "private" if it is happening over a "public" channel.

    I don't get why people expect privacy when sending information over a 3rd party service.

    There is censorship and then there is the abuse of free speech ... this is why we can't have nice things, its the minority of toxic immature and vile people that are pushing these networks to have to resort to censorship.


     Sorry but no, you believe in free speech or you don't, you can't cherry pick. I'd rather listen to someones opinion, no matter how objectionable, challenge it, debate it, rather than have it silenced and forced underground.

    It's not "cherry picking" to have a standard. Freedom of Speech is provided by the government, not a corporation. I can't go in to your house and say anything I want for as long as I want; you are allowed to have me removed.

    People don't understand how freedom works.
