Why do people not want to show their faces with a profile photo?

For me - I don't like taking selfies, and I'd rather have my avatar represent something that I really like or identify with than just my plain old face, lol

Well I'm not using my face because I'm so beautiful that young ladies such as yourself and @vannagirl will want to fight over me and the other blokes on here would despair when they realise what a super hunk of man I am.

Well if you don't mind going off topic - when we play live, I am the bass player. For our studio work - I am the audio engineer, bass player and I also cover some of the guitar parts, vocals and all the keyboard stuff. :)
