Why Is the New Navigator UI STILL Not Available in the UK?
I don’t normally post on here, but this one’s seriously bothering me.
It’s now June 2025, and the Navigator UI update (from the v77 release) still hasn’t rolled out to many of us here in the UK. Meanwhile, users in the US and elsewhere have had access to it for weeks — if not longer.
This isn’t just some background tweak. It’s a complete overhaul of how we interact with the Quest interface — a huge usability upgrade. I’ve seen videos of it and read the impressions: floating launcher, app pinning, translucent interface over your MR space. It’s exactly what we’ve needed for ages. But for some reason, UK users are still stuck on the old system, with zero transparency from Meta about why.
We’re not asking for much — just equal treatment as paying customers. Oculus/Meta has sold and supported the Quest platform in the UK from the beginning. We pay the same price (or more, depending on exchange rates and VAT), support the ecosystem, and spread the word. So why are we consistently left waiting when these major updates roll out?
The “gradual and random rollout” excuse is wearing thin. It doesn’t feel random when it always seems to hit US markets first while others are left behind. And VPN workarounds or account resets shouldn’t be necessary just to get a UI everyone will eventually get anyway.
I’m not here to bash the platform — I genuinely enjoy it. But if Meta wants to grow its user base globally, basic fairness and transparency matter. We deserve an explanation — or better yet, access to the same features at the same time.
Is anyone else in the UK still waiting for Navigator? Would love to hear if anyone’s found a way to trigger the rollout legitimately. Or if someone from Meta sees this — please, talk to us.
End rant.
