Window Sensor still showing low battery warning.

Hi, guys, this is totally off topic but I would like to get some help. I bought a window sensor from an alarm company a couple of years back ( http://cspalarms.ca/ ). Last morning it showed that the batteries were draining so I had them replaced. But it still kept showing the low battery warning. I removed the batteries for a few minutes and then replaced it and it still showed the low battery warning. The window sensor is pretty much the only security we have in the house, so I would like to get it fixed as soon as possible. Any thoughts on this would be great.

Sounds like you need to get a replacement from your alarm company. I would open a support communication with them and see if you can get a replacement shipped to you. If it's the kind of window monitor I'm thinking of (magnetic trip-mechanism), they should have no problem sending you one.

Then again, if you have had this monitor for a year or more (depending on warranty for the item), this kind of issue may just be considered "wear-and-tear," and they may charge you. I would still fight for a free-replacement though if this is the case, as you probably are also subscribed to their service for a fee, and service-based companies like to keep their subscribers happy.
  • Thanks for the response, I did call them and they told me that they would send someone to check it.
